On Sunday morning a fire broke out on the the mountain slopes above the neighbourhoods of Ocean View and Capri.
The flames are visible from Kommetjie Road, and fire fighting services reported to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
City spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse said in a statement, “At 10.15am this morning, the City’s Fire and Rescue Services responded to mountain slopes alight. The City has six fire fighting appliances on scene with twenty-four staff members.
Table Mountain National Parks and Volunteer Wildfire Services are also in attendance with ground crews.”
At this stage no property is in danger and no injuries have been reported.
