It has been 10 years since Delheim first began spreading the love of wild mushrooms, making it a pioneer in the region when it opened its forests to organised forages. The estate now continues the tradition. It announced the 2020 dates for its popular ‘wild hunts’ – June 16 and July 3.

Cape Town mushroom specialist Gary Goldman returns to share his knowledge of the fascinating fungus and its health properties. Before leading foragers into the woods, Gary will teach you what’s edible, what should be avoided and how to forage in an eco-conscious way.

With baskets full, you’ll return to the winery’s Garden Restaurant for a sumptuous mushroom-inspired feast, fit for avid foragers and crowned with servings of the 2019 Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment – the latest vintage release of this wine.

Tickets: R850 per person (Included: A mystery gift, expert workshop, foraging and a mushroom-inspired lunch with wine).

Numbers to the event will be limited, so early booking is essential and must be done through Quicket.

Bring: A basket, pocket knife, a pair of walking boots and a rain jacket.

Unfortunately, no under 18s can be accommodated due to the toxicity of mushrooms that could be handled.
