During the nationwide lockdown, residents in need of medical advice will not go without assistance, thanks to Momentum’s commitment to helping South Africans during this difficult time.

The healthcare, insurance and investments company has agreed to commit additional resources to help the government curb the spread of the coronavirus.

A result of  this commitment is a new nationwide service that will connect those in need of medical advice with healthcare professionals at no charge. This not only ensures that medical advice is readily available to residents during the lockdown but also helps medical practitioners tend to patients without worries of infection.

This new service has been dubbed ‘HelloDoctor’ and is available 24 hours a day, any day of the week, in all official languages spoken in South Africa.

The service will officially kick off today, March 26, and does not require data or airtime.

How it works

If you find yourself or anyone at your household in need of medical advice simply dial *120*394# on your cellular device and follow the menu prompts.

Shortly after you have completed this process, a doctor will call you back and provide feedback on your query based on information you have given.

This service can be used anytime of the day and will provide assistance to those with medical queries throughout the lockdown period.
