The suburb of Gatesville has been identified as a COVID-19 hotspot.
As reported by Radio 786, the City of Cape Town’s Urban Management has said its Area Economic Development Department is working on an intervention plan to mitigate the risk posed on Klipfontein Road.
The plan is expected to be rolled out in December during the festive season, as this is one of the area’s busiest times.
Shop owners and traders in Gatesville who are located between Hazel and Mavis road have been informed of the exact details of the intervention plans and are expected to meet to discuss them on Thursday, November 5.
As of Monday, November 2, South Africa has 727 595 total confirmed cases with 772 new cases identified since the last report. A total of 54 deaths were also reported, bringing the overall number of deaths in the country to 19 465. Our recoveries now stand at 657 500 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.
