The petrol price is predicted to slightly decrease in December, just in time for the festive season.
Mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) reveals that that petrol 93 and 95 are likely to decrease by 34 and 36 cents per litre respectively, while diesel 0.05% and 0.005% are predicted to drop by 5 cents and 4 cents respectively. Illuminating paraffin, however, is likely to increase by 10 cents a litre.
This data is only a mid-month estimate and may change by the end of the month when official prices are announced.
If these figures are correct, petrol 93 and 95 will cost about R14.05 and R14.23 per litre, and diesel 0.05% and 0.005% around R12.20 and R12.23 per litre.
The predicted decreases are a result of the strengthening Rand/US Dollar exchange rate and changes to international petroleum product costs.
