Robben Island Museum (RIM) staff are facing a possible 50% salary cut, as management is considering various business options to survive.

According to IOL, RIM was planning to restructure its operations from June in order to remain sustainable.

The report said that some employees, however, felt they were being “punished for mismanagement that cost the company million”.

News24 reported in March that RIM had lost more than 90% of its visitors due to COVID-19.
