Microbreweries excite me. By breaking out of the conventional brewing norm, some really interesting beers have started coming out of Cape Town microbreweries within the past few years.

Enter the Woodstock Winter Beer Festival, a fair to celebrate some of the most exciting, up and coming microbreweries in the city. Does a peanut butter porter or bourbon vanilla stout sound interesting to you? Here’s your chance to try some unique, dark winter beers that were brewed specifically for this festival, as well as some lagers and ales that are bound to pique the interest of both beer connoisseurs and newcomers alike.

The breweries featured at the first Woodstock Winter Beer Festival are:
RIOT Beer
Woodstock Brewery
Atlantic Storm Brewery
Harfield Beer Company
Stickman Brewery
Stone Circle Brewery
Drifter Brewing Company
Apollo Brewing Company
Brewers Co-op
BeerFly Brewery
Hoogeberg Breweries
VonB Craft Beer
Lakeside Beerworks
Everson’s Cider
Long Beach Brewery
Sir Thomas Brewing Co

Donations will be collected at the event for the Haven Night Shelter Napier Street Cape Town. This time of year is particularly hard for those without homes and visitors are encouraged to bring along blankets, lightly used clothing, toiletries and other essentials.
