#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.
There are two things that Capetonians love doing on the weekend: wine tasting and visiting a good farmer’s market, sometimes both. But with so many incredible markets in and around Cape Town, it can sometimes feel as though you’re closing your eyes and going “eeny, meeny, miny, moe.” Thankfully, we’re here to lend you a helping hand.
If you’re looking for fresh, organic produce from locally sourced vendors, delicious food and quality arts and crafts, then the Earth Fair Food Market in Tokai should be at the top of your list.
Established in 2008, the Earth Fair Food Market has over 100 different traders over three trading days to choose from. If you’ve ever wanted to support local and help small businesses, then this is the market to do just that.
What makes this market so incredible is their goal to provide their customers with the best quality food that’s locally sourced, organic and free-range (where possible). They’re also doing their part to help the environment and have created an environmentally conscious space that endeavours to minimise their waste.
On Wednesdays and Fridays from 4pm to 9pm, enjoy the smooth jams of a live band as you meander through the market aisles or enjoy a glass of wine. The market is also open on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm and is the perfect place to stop and enjoy a delicious breakfast or lunch.
