An off-duty officer was shot dead on Wednesday in Disa Road. According to police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, the incident occurred at about 1.40 this afternoon, April 28. A “manhunt” has been launched by the Western Cape police to find the gunmen, reports News24.
The victim, 49, was found lying next to his vehicle. The officer was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
“The unknown suspects allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle that belonged to the deceased. The motive for the attack is is possibly robbery,” said van Wyk.
No arrests have been made.
