Cash-in-transit (CIT) driver Leo Prinsloo has reportedly received death threats after foiling an attempted heist in Pretoria.

News24 reported on Wednesday that Prinsloo and his family had since beed placed under protective guard.

“Because of whoever is behind the organised crime, Prinsloo has received death threats on his life, so we are just taking it seriously,” Deon Coetze, the managing director at Fortis Pro-Active Defence Solutions, where Prinsloo worked was quoted as saying.

Prinsloo was all over the news last week after a video in which he remained calm at the wheel of a cash van under attack went viral.

The footage was recorded in the cabin of the CIT vehicle.

Prinsloo is an ex-member of the SAPS Task Force, and is the head of the Fortis Pro-Active Defense Solutions.
