A Western Cape man, who won just over R13 million in lotto with a R10 quick pick ticket, has reportedly said the winnings are going to make a difference in his family’s life, adding that he won’t, however, leave his job.
According to IOL, the father of two won the exact amount of R13 296 348.10 from the May 1 draw.
“My wife and I want to save a huge portion of our earnings.
“I don’t plan on leaving my job as I earn a very good salary, however, the winnings will make a difference in our lives.”
“First I want to pay off my debts, renovate my children’s bedrooms and buy myself a brand new car,” he was quoted as saying.
SA Lotto indicated that the Western Cape was at the forefront in terms of the most jackpot wins by province in 2020.
“We’ve done research about where all the money goes to that is won with all the Lotto and Powerball jackpots… Western Cape is the luckiest province with the most lotto winners!,” Lotto SA said.
