A couple was reportedly found dead in their bedroom in Lavalia, George on Thursday, with bullet wounds to their heads.

A Times Live report said the couple – a 59-year-old man and 61-year-old woman – was last seen alive by their son when he left his parent’s home on Thursday after 17:00.

“When he returned at about 7 pm the same day, he discovered the bodies of his parents in the bedroom. Both had wounds to their heads,” Provincial police spokesperson Capt Malcolm Pojie was quoted as saying.

Pojie said forensic experts found a firearm in the bedroom, News24 reported.

“The firearm will be sent for ballistic testing and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of the death,” Pojie said.

Police were investigating.
