Giant retailer, Pick n Pay has announced that it is encouraging its customers to use the R200 million in unredeemed Smart Shopper points.

The company allegedly has unclaimed points by customers in the past 12 months from its loyalty programme. According to IOL, Pick n Pay’s Smart Shoppers, which has more than 8.5 million active members, allegedly delivered more than R3.5 billion in savings to customers through personalised discounts in 2020.

John Bradshaw, Retail Executive for Marketing, indicated that they have had one of their best years regarding the smart shopper’s scheme with over a million new smart shoppers, Cape Talk reported. Bradshaw said although the points do expire after a full year, the retailer is encouraging customers to redeem theirs. “We’ve got a million new Smart Shoppers… These new shoppers haven’t got into the habit of spending their points… Come and use your points! … The points do expire…, “Bradshaw added.

Meanwhile, cardholders can simply dial *134*930*CARDNUMBER# on their mobile phone, or add PnP on Whatsapp (+27 60 070 3037) and select the Smart Shopper menu option to register their card.
