Cape Town appears to be in the throes of gun violence this weekend, with several Cape Town communities being affected.
According to EWN, three people were gunned down in Manenberg during the early hours of Saturday morning when an unknown gunman pulled up on two men and fired shots. The pair have sustained serious injuries.
“Two males were standing in Irvine Street when an unknown white LDV approached them, and the occupants started shooting at them. A case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation”, said the police’s Frederick Van Wyk.
A few kilometres away, in Belhar, a 17-year-old boy was wounded after he was hit by a bullet. While in the township of Khayelistsha, eleven people were shot dead and seven seriously injured in what appears to be gang fights over “protection fees,” reported IOL.
