#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

In honour of World Burger Day, we’ve put together a little menu of some of Cape Town’s best burger joints.

Redemption Burgers 

Situated at the much-loved Old Biscuit Mill, here you can redeem yourself with some fabulous gourmet burgers. Will you take some leftovers home or can you put it all away?

Burger & Lobster

A concept of going “back to a simplistic and uncomplicated restaurant culture” where diners can select from three hero dishes on the menu: the burger, the lobster roll or the fresh whole lobster.

Find them in the heart of Bree Street, Cape Town.

Jerry’s Burger Bar 

Capetonians can get very passionate about Jerry’s. Always tasty, always smothered in extra love, and most certainly always happy to welcome you.

The Dog’s Bollocks 

Yes, you read that right. Go see for yourself. The vibe is pumping and the food is lekker.

Find them at YARD 6, Roodehek Street, Gardens.

Olive & Chilli

Sign us up for these amazing meals. This cafe is the perfect way to still the hunger pangs – and then some.
Find them at 111 Victoria Road, Woodstock. They are Halaal-friendly.

Hudson’s 

No stranger to the Cape Town food scene, Hudson’s is a regular go-to for everyone from high schoolers to retirees. Tuck into fresh burgers and extra-flavourful chippies, paired with a beautiful glass of local craft beer.

RocoMamas

Known for their Limited Editions, their ‘Smashburgers’ are sure to knock your stomach out of the park.

Woodies

This Burger bar is known for their Colossus, the R84 burger is so big, it has its own hashtag! 4 x 100g beef patties (or two chicken fillets) with mozzarella, cheddar, lettuce, onions, tomato and gherkins. #Yum!
