Philippi is set to be the new heart for the Mother City’s central suburbs.

The region’s old cement factory will be turned into the Philippi Village featuring a four-storey hotel and a nightclub for luxury living as well as a private hospital and an education area to uplift the community. Plus, you can shop ’til you drop at the largest container walk the country has ever seen.

‘We want it to be an interesting space that has been built first for the locals, but that others can also visit and enjoy,’ says Amor Strauss, general manager of the Philippi Village.

The multimillion-rand project will be carried out in 10 phases with each phase costing an estimated R100 million.
