Lady Rosemead (more affectionately known as Lady Rose) came into the lives of the Animal Welfare Society of SA rather unexpectedly during February following a concerted month-long effort by dog lovers from the Southern Suburbs to trap her.
When she arrived she was terrified, ravenously hungry, unaccustomed to eating proper dog food and suffering from debilitating Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumours (a proverbial 4 letter abbreviation in any vets dictionary) that required extensive chemotherapy.
You will recall that this amber-eyed darling had a penchant for KFC which is how the shelter finally managed to tempt her into a ‘trap’. Six months down the line and she’s a different dog yearning for a loving home of her own.
“If you adopt Lady Rose you will not only be saving her life but freeing up a kennel for us to save another animal in distress and we can’t think of a better way for you to show your kindness this Mandela month”, says the Animal Welfare Society of SA.
If rescued is your favourite breed then Lady Rose is the one for you! To adopt Lady Rose please call Lawrence on (021) 692 2626 or email [email protected]
