One of our biggest electronic music festivals will take place this weekend in the form of Earthdance 2015.
This shakedown takes place at the popular Nekkies resort, a location which has become synyomous with early-season stomping grounds for festival lovers. Three dancefloors comprising of psytrance, techno, and drum & bass provide good variety for electronic music afficionados and those in seek of a jol alike.
A massive drawcard is not only the selection of different beats, but also in the quality of production the organizers of Earthdance pull off, and have pulled off, over the years (it’s at this point that memories of a particularly memorable performance from a young P.H FAT on the second floor come to mind). Numerous venues around the world all simultaneously partake in this spring equinox called Earthdance, a globally-connected gathering to usher in the coming season through dance, art, music and expression.
But, it’s what happens behind the scenes which makes it a great festival to go to – charity. For over 16 years, Earthdance has given back to a number of different charities and gotten involved with conscious initiatives, with donations being accepted at the festival itself too.
This year you can get excited for the international psytrance acts LifeForm and Earth Space as well as the cream of the local crop of artists across the techno and drum & bass spectrum.
Sunshine is predicted for the weekend. Get your sunglasses, sunscreen and smiles on.
