Founded in Cape Town in 2013, Ballo Eyewood is a super-slick manufacturer of wooden sunglasses. Each of the wide range of styles is available in your choice of imbuia, walnut or cherry wood, and lenses are all polarised.
They’ve got pretty great green credentials too – all the wood veneers are off-cuts from local furniture manufacturers and more than 40% of each frame is recycled paper material that is laminated for strength.

ENTER THE DARK HORSE
Dark Horse is made up of Cape Town duo Lisa du Plessis and Jarrad Nelson, an interior designer and architect respectively. They design and manufacturer a range of homeware and travel accessories from locally sourced materials.
We are seriously lusting after this industrial bench, made from powder-coated steel and Balau timber.

Bow Peep suits our spring mood perfectly. A handmade accessories and stationery line, this fun Cape Town brand was started in 2011 by Leila Badsha.
