We all like a good evening out with great company and comforting food, while guzzling on our exquisite drinks and dancing the night away. Now imagine doing all that, and being given the honour to watch professional dancers gracing the stage with charming, enticing and elegant moves. Tempting, right? And it’s all possible with Black Orchid Burlesque SA.

They are South Africa’s first authorised burlesque institution, and they’re taking Cape Town by storm. South Africa has amazing and talented burlesque artists and Black Orchid Burlesque SA has the cream of the crop in their troop. They took the initiative, and chose the very best to give you the pleasure of watching these highly bewildering and gifted artists.

We all know sex sells, but Black Orchid Burlesque doesn’t associate with this, as their enterprise is operated by women for women. Their main goal is to empower women to exhibit their inner passion using an art form that does not devalue women. They aim to advance ladies to the status of a classic femme fatale.

Black Orchid Burlesque treats you to a slightly salacious burlesque theatre experience. Their expertise is a variety of genres that span from Traditional Classic Burlesque to what is now known as Neo-Burlesque or Caburlesque. If you have no idea what those are, don’t worry, you’re not alone. What you should know is that the moves are a blend of sensual self-expression, the art of tease and licentious ensembles accompanied by tricks, props or moderately smutty humour.
