KWV has firmly established itself as world class brandy. Earlier this year KWV won ‘Worlds Best Producer’ and ‘World’s Best Brandy at the International Spirit challenge in London. Now they have also won even more accolades in New York. With such international acclaim, it’s easy to forget that KWV calls Paarl home.

This goes to show that Paarl is not only a fun destination to visit full with magnificent scenery, it is also plays a vital part in South Africa’s wine and spirit industry.

KWV competed in the New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC) against 600 hundred spirits from around the world. They are submitted and reviewed by a panel of expert trade buyers, with products awarded based on their performance. Spirits are also reviewed by country.

KWV-Winners

In the South African class, KWV won ‘Brandy of the Year’ in three categories: the 20-Year-Old Potstill Brandy was named ’20 Year Brandy of the Year’, Laborie Alambic was named ‘5 Year Brandy of the Year’ and  Imoya was named ‘3 Year Brandy of the Year’. KWV also secured in International Gold Medal for its 20-Year-Old Potstill Brandy and an International Silver Medal for is 15-Year-Old Potstill brandy.
