Having only served tapas in the past, Dalliance Restaurant & Bar at the V&A Waterfront now serves full portion menu items – and they don’t disappoint. Each dish from their expanded menu can also be paired with the wines on offer to make your meal even more memorable.

Step inside the charming dining space, which is deceivably larger than it appears, kitted with modern decor and a view of the Atlantic Ocean – truly a sight to behold, especially at sunset. If you’re able, grab a seat at the longer tables right next to the windows or a seat against the wall looking out at the view. Then get comfy because you’re in for a delightful gastronomic experience.

Start off by ordering the sticky, spicy barbecue chicken wings that deliver on its promise of both spice and stickiness in yummy bite-sized portions. Dining with your significant other or a mate? Get them to try the tahini, garlic and cumin hummus served with pita bread then dig into the generous portion yourself. The hint of spices in the hummus will play off nicely against the chicken, and you’ll wish you would have made it a meal.

But don’t stop there. For mains, the line fish served with lemon caper butter and green beans wash down well with a glass of Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc. Or, if you prefer a more Asian-inspired dish, try the sushi platter with prawns and tuna, and pair it with a Rosé by Delaire Graff.

Still have room for dessert? Good as there’s no way you can miss the delectable Marshmallow or the Brûlée, the latter of which is a New York cheesecake with shortbread that takes up to three hours to prepare as the pastry chef follows the full process of creating both the baked cheesecake and the creme brûlée. As for that Marshmallow? Hats off to anyone who can polish the entire thing – although deliciously sweet and made with only the finest Belgian chocolate, it’s a mouthful!

If you’ve ever wanted to indulge in the finer things in life, Dalliance’s new menu offers it in spades. Trust us, you’ll want to try it all!
