We all love a good brainstorming session. You know, those moments when creativity strikes and some really concrete ideas are born out of shared imagination.
This Friday, the Amphitheatre at the V&A Waterfront will be home to the Ideas World Cup Cape Town, an innovative brainstorming experience among the likes the city has never seen. Innovators, disruptors, neuroscience experts and facilitators have been invited to the event where creativity will be unleashed and centred around the five following societal and environmental challenges facing our city:
How might we ensure Cape Town’s water security?
How can we ease traffic congestion?
In what ways might we prevent fires in informal settlements?
In what ways might we provide affordable housing in the CBD and surrounding suburbs?
How can we build our city’s capacity for social entrepreneurship?
Ideas World Cup Cape Town will be but one edition of numerous other Ideas World Cup events taking place simultaneously around the globe. All these events will be connected via video feeds to make this a globally connected experience. The goal is to generate 10 000 ideas, ideas that could spur change and tackle issues and challenges that are Cape Town-specific. Open to all ages, it’s shaping up to be a truly special event – and who knows, the greatest idea may come from the most unlikely mind.
