Rosanthorn, a trio of gifted musicians, has rebranded the cello by playing an electric version of the instrument outside the realm of classical music. The trio is made up of Dorette Roos, a member of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Carol Thorns, a South African Music Awards Nominee and Anjulie Nock, head of music at Parklands College. The ladies have launched their first self-titled EP, boasting six tracks, in April 2017.

Audiences are blown away by their soul-stirring performances, one of which will take place at Youngblood Gallery. Expect to experience music inspired by a blend of grief and joy, with hints of African influences. Book early at a cost of R120, or pay R150 for a ticket at the door.
