The Mother City came alive with beautiful, imaginative costumes and floats on Saturday night at the Cape Town Carnival. The annual event is a celebration of the metamorphic power of creativity and celebrates our diverse cultures and love for the city.
Thousands of spectators lined the Fan Walk in Green Point to join in the extravagant parade of 1 500 performers in 43 performing groups from 27 different areas. This year’s theme is Mother City, Mother Nature and the locals did the theme justice with their spectacular ensembles.
