One of the Durbanville Wine Valley’s most prestigious and popular wine estates, Meerendal, has announced the launch of a Farmers’ Market that will be held on the grounds of the estate on a number of Saturdays of every month. The next one will take place at the estate on Saturday, September 22.
Housed in an all-weather marquee, the market will feature a large selection of products and gifts including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, dry goods, preserves and homemade confectionary.
Freshly cut flowers and an assortment of pot plants and succulents will also be on sale, as will beautiful hand-crafted jewellery and other arts and crafts.
Marketgoers can also ease their hunger with a selection of tasty foods that will be on sale including a spit braai, sushi, calamari, burgers, saucy sausages and homemade soups to name a few and for those with a sweet tooth there are mallow snaps, ice creams and an outside kiosk serving popcorn, candy floss and sweets. Fresh juices, tea and coffee will also be on offer.
Entrance to the market costs R50 per adult with children under 18 admitted free. No pets are allowed on the Meerendal Wine Estate unless they are registered guide dogs.
