Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced today that they are expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that they appreciated all of the support they received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to to share this happy news with the public.

The news comes hours after the Duke and Duchess landed in Sydney for their first major international tour.

Markle told The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family the exciting news at Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday.

The new member of the family will be the seventh-in-line to the British throne.

Some sources say that Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, may move to London to help look after the baby, she is reportedly “very happy about this lovely news” and “looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild”.

Both the Duke and Duchess have previously expressed their willingness to be parents. Markle once said that being a mother was on her ”bucket list” and Prince Harry has stated that he would love to have children one day.

Today’s happy announcement is a long-awaited achievement for the lovely couple.
