Congregate in Cape Town’s bustling Adderley Street as this year’s Christmas lights get switched on. This open-air event sees Mayor Patricia de Lille officially mark the start of the holiday season by lighting up one of Cape Town’s oldest main roads.
This year’s theme is ‘Cape Town Celebrates 20 Years of Democracy’, and what an occasion to celebrate. Some of the city’s talented musicians and performers will be there to entertain onlookers, with a concert at the Grand Parade following the switch-on.
