Until Sunday 22 March
Watershed Exhibition Centre, V&A Waterfront
Good news for anyone who missed out in the past two months (what were you doing?) – The Art of the Brick has been extended for another three weeks.
World-renowned LEGO art exhibit The Art of The Brick is currently open at the Watershed Exhibition Centre at the V&A Waterfront. Over 70 sculptures created from more than a million LEGO bricks will be on display
These one-of-a-kind LEGO brick sculptures are the work of US artist Nathan Sawaya. Proclaimed as one of the world’s 10 must-see exhibitions by CNN, The Art of The Brick has attracted millions of visitors worldwide.
The artworks on display are large-scale sculptures, many of which are human figures, but also include a T-Rex skeleton constructed from over 80 000 LEGO bricks and measuring more than six metres in length. You’ll also have a chance to see Sawaya’s recent interpretations of some of the world’s most famous artwork, including Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring.
