Galleries, museums, arts organisations and artists collaborate during Art Week Cape Town to create a strong public focus on the vibrant art scene of our city. It aims to increase the visibility of, and strengthen, the visual art industry in Cape Town.
Participating galleries, institutions and individuals are included in a coordinated programme of openings, events, and open studios in the CBD and greater Cape Town area.
The programme is entirely free and open to the public, with the intention of providing a dedicated and accessible time and space for experiencing contemporary art in society, as well as build the sustainability of the art market in South Africa.
