Cape Town City Ballet looks back at 80 years of service to ballet in South Africa and looks forward to many more successful productions in their auspicious Gala Occasion. Performances will trace, in dance, the 80 years of this company, from its inception in 1934 to its present status as South Africa’s National Ballet Company.
The gala will include excerpts from works by Cecily Robinson, Gary Burne, David Poole, Norman Furber, Andre Prokovsky, Veronica Paeper, Robin van Wyk and others, allowing you to indulge in an evening of nostalgia and catch a glimpse at the ballets that made this company famous.
The prestigious Balletomanes Awards will be announced at a private function for Friends of the CTCB after the last performance on Nov 22nd.
