Saturday 20 August

Liberty Promenade, Mitchell’s Plain

Liberty Promenade Shopping Centre’s annual Generation Green Recycled Fashion Show will see young designers from 20 schools come together to show off their unique outfits, all of which must incorporate recycled materials.

This is in keeping with the event’s yearly focus on recycling. Each year, however, the competition includes a specific social message, which ties into that focus. This year’s message, ‘Drugs is Trash’, serves to raise awareness about the harm drug addiction can cause to individuals and their community.

I hope the focus on ALCOHOL the worst of them all as opposed to drugs that are prevalent in a small % of the population.
