Brace yourselves Capetonians – from this weekend on you will start noticing a whole lot more GP number plates on the roads. The time of year has come when we share our home with our energetic Jozi cousins who just want to fit in as much R&R as possible in the space of two to three weeks.
Remember to stick in the left lane if you’re not going at least 50 km/h over the speed limit, lest you find a 2014 Range Rover Evoque, fresh from inland, bearing down on you from behind. Having said that, no disrespect to them for coming. We live in a beautiful place and everybody knows it.
The rain today is most certainly welcomed before it clears tomorrow and the mercury starts rising again. We’re hitting the road this weekend to camp out at Tribe 2014, a festival taking place in the bundu somewhere between Worcestor and Ceres.
A Dutch pop cheese supergroup known as the Vengaboys, who are somehow still miraculously going, perform at the Grand Arena on Sunday evening and I honestly don’t know what to feel about that.
And in the most conflicting news of the week, Eskom yesterday announced that although there were no power cuts planned today, this could likely change. Confusing.
Have a lekker weekend.
Cheers,
Justin
