Saturday 8 October 8 am
Bovlei Building, Wellington
Wellington Wines celebrates International Pinotage Day this coming Saturday in order to honour South Africa’s only indigenous grape varietal.
Guests have plenty of fun activities to look forward to at the Bovlei Building on Bainskloof Road. First up is a Pinotage Pilates session, during which standard Pilates equipment will be replaced with a wine bottle and tasting glass.
There will also be food and wine pairings in the tasting venue, as well as tasting sessions. A market will be on offer for visitors to check out some Pinotage-inspired products such as jams and chutneys. You can also bring along a picnic basket for your lunch. Wellington-based rock band The Inside Job will be providing musical entertainment throughout the day.
The celebration ends at 2 pm, but there will be gala dinner at 7 pm, complete with sumptuous Pinotage-infused food, for which bookings are required.
Do note that ticket holders for the day’s festivities qualify for 10% discount on all Pinotage sales, and consumers are encouraged to donate these savings to the Pink Drive in aid of breast cancer awareness.
