Blah Blah Bar, Gardens

Kloof Street’s ever-popular Blah Blah Bar is holding its first ever music festival, starting in the last week of September.

The Interplanetary Folk Festival’s lineup includes a multitude of diverse local artists, such as Derek Gripper, Durban’s Guy Buttery, Gansbaai’s Anton Goosen, and Empangeni’s Qadasi & Maqhinga.

One of the festival’s aims is to challenge the idea that Folk music is primarily an acoustic, English-language genre. There are Master Classes included in the week-long schedule, given by various well-known performers.

Tickets are available on Quicket, and at the door, though it advisable to book in advance as there is limited space. Be sure to check out the various special discounts on offer, as well as which shows and parties scheduled over the week are free.
