Sunday 8 November 12 noon

Washington Street, Langa

The first Langa Open Streets Social Innovation Festival will showcase locals’ inventive solutions to social problems within their communities.

Talented South African visionaries mentored through the Red Bull Amaphiko Academy will present their exhibits and demonstrations. These include Thato Kgatlhanye’s up-cycled solar backpacks and Yonela Khetsheza’s Feminique Fitness Club.

Part of Langa’s Washington Street will be closed off to traffic, allowing you to explore freely. There will also be activities such as street cricket, children’s games, and Phillip Miller performing on a ‘street piano’.
