The Masque Theatre, Muizenberg

The Fabrik Theatre Company brings you an updated version of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, Macbeth. On at The Masque Theatre for three days, the production aims to draw parallels with the horrors of modern life. Witchcraft becomes substance abuse while the battle between good and evil is signified by the struggles between fascism and anarchy, democracy and autocracy, and punk and technology.

Starring Ian Gareth Hadfield and Anel Skye as Lord and Lady Macbeth, this interpretation incorporates a variety of theatrical devices and performance styles, such as movement, singing and projections. Note that the play does feature swearing as well as alcohol and drug abuse.
