On Saturday 8 October, i.e. African Penguin Awareness Day, the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB), in association with South African National Parks (SANParks), brings you their Penguin Festival in Simon’s Town.

The festival begins at Seaforth Beach with the release of African penguins rehabilitated by SANCCOB. It then moves to Simon’s Town Navy Sports Fields for the festival activities, which include live music, games, edutainment and various exhibitions from marine conservation organisations.

In typical Cape Town style, there will also be craft beer, wine tasting, food trucks, and a special cooking demonstration by a SASSI Braai Ambassador. All proceeds will be donated to SANCCOB.
