Restaurant Sticks McGee’s Monday night jam sessions are held for young Jazz musicians. It’s an opportunity for them to show their skills in the Straight-Ahead style of Jazz. This means no Smooth Jazz or pop, though Jazz standards, Latin Jazz, and South African Jazz standards are welcome.
These artists will be joined by professional musicians from the Capetonian and South African Jazz scenes. The event is hosted by tenor saxophonist Dan Shout. There is seating outside at R40 per person, so get there early unless you’d prefer sitting indoors or standing outdoors.
