Wavescape Fish Fry brings the surfing community of Cape Town together at the Bluebird Garage in Muizenberg, the spiritual and historical home of surfing in South Africa.
As part of Wavescape Surf Festival, the Fish Fry enables shapers, artists, environmentalists and surfers to share ideas, and barter or buy surfboards from each other, as well as raise awareness to sustainable seafood consumption.
Bush cook guru and celebrity chef Justin Bonello will host a special fish braai challenge featuring six Cape Town Ultimate Braaimaster teams from Seasons 2 and 3 of the popular TV cooking series. Executive chef Bertus Basson will head a judging panel featuring food bloggers and foodies, and top South African cookbooks will be raffled.
Fish Fry takes off with a surfboard market, so bring your spare boards to swap or sell. There will also be craft beer and food stalls, surf artists and craftsmen to demonstrate their work, and fun entertainment activities for the kids.
