Students of the South African schools Capsicum Culinary Studio or the Private Hotel School (TPHS) will be given the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in culinary arts of hospitality due to an international partnership.

Capsicum and TPHS have partnered with the renowned Business & Hotel Management School (BHMS) in Switzerland, the first school in the world to offer a Bachelor or Arts degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management. Students will now be able to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in either culinary arts or hospitality , which would set them apart in the industry.

This partnership means that students who have completed a three-year Level 6 Occupational certificate – Chef at Capsicum (QCTO) – will be given direct entry to the final year of the BA degree in Culinary Arts at BHMS.

TPHS students who compete the Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Management (NQF Level 6) or Diploma in Event Management (NQF Level 6) will be given direct entry to the final year of the Swiss educational institution’s Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management.

Students will furthermore have an opportunity to take part in a paid internship in Switzerland or elsewhere abroad. Once they complete their BA with BHMS, international work placement assistance will be offered to them.

Capsicum, South Africa’s largest chef school, has six campuses throughout the country in Cape Town, Durban, Boksburg, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, and Pretoria. The pass rate across all branches is 95% and Capsicum holds numerous local and international accreditations.

With over 10 years of operation in Stellenbosch, TPHS offers first-class hospitality training for students wanting to enter the industry. Nearly 100% of all graduates are able to secure a job once they have completed their studies. It launched an additional campus in Rosebank, Johannesburg last year.
