The eagerly anticipated 5th edition of the Bokeh South African International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival (BokehFFF) promises to be bigger and brighter than ever before, spanning over multiple days and taking place in Cape Town and Johannesburg from 20 – 26 September 2018.

The festival includes multiple screenings, captivating industry talks and competitions all culminating in the grand Red Carpet Gala Awards Ceremony on 22 September at a secret location in Cape Town.

For budding film and fashion enthusiasts, directors and creatives the festival line-up promises to be an informative and inspiring week of seminars, screenings panel discussions and workshops by leading international and local industry experts in the fashion and film fields.

Screenings at AFDA

On Friday 21 September screenings and presentations will take place at AFDA in Observatory, Cape Town. Attendees can look forward to four sessions by some of the local and international directors and producers selected as a few of the 40 official film nominations. The last session will include a presentation by multi-award winning make-up artist Einat Dan who will be presenting 4 of her films as well as a 1 hour creative make-up demonstration.

Friday will also see the Emerging Creative Talent directors present their films in public for the first time. One of the 10 movies will be awarded R50 000 and a screening spot at the Saturday awards night!

Talks at Media Films Service

On Saturday 22 September the festival moves to Media Films Services, in Paarden Eiland in Cape Town, for a series of informative and inspiring talks. Attendees can look forward to sessions from Jackie May from Twyg, covering ethical and sustainable living, Hilton Treves, a world-class VFX master from the Cinegestix (Tools and Techniques for bringing the Real world into the Virtual) and hear about the latest gadgets and film developments from Media Film Rentals as well as the launch by Fujifilm SA of the new FUJI XT-3 Camera.

Taking place in the afternoon on Saturday is the SA International Creative Make-Up Championships. Fourteen local and international contestants will compete within the theme of Tim Burton-Inspired to best wow the judges with their make-up and body art, to claim the grand prize of R20 000.

Gala Event Awards Ceremony

The glittering Red Carpet Gala Awards Ceremony will kick off on Saturday from 6pm at a secret location in Cape Town.

“The Bokeh events are always innovative and full of surprises! This year as Headline Sponsor, Savanna Loco are proud to be associated with a team that showcases creativity with such visual flair,” says Marsh Barends, Brand Manager of Savanna Loco.

The event will include fashion shows by The Lot and local designer Abigail Betz, activations and entertainment from presenting sponsor Savanna Loco and vehicle partner Mercedes-Benz, and of course the grand awards ceremony. Runners up will receive additional prizes and uniquely designed trophies by innovative homeware designer Carrol Boyes. Carrol Boyes will also be debuting their new confectionary range on the evening.
