If you’re looking for a show that will leave you on the edge of your seat, surprise you and impress you with sheer talent, than you simply cannot miss Burn The Floor in the Mother City, which will show until August 17, 2019.
Cape Town is home to many amazing theatrical works, but none so easily combine unbelievable dancing abilities with live singers and musicians while adding a touch of drama as Burn The Floor does.
While attending their opening night at The Baxter Theatre I was blown away by the magnificent and seemingly effortless feats of high-level dancing that made the dancers themselves appear as though the laws of gravity did not apply to them.
Dancers whirled, swirled and slid from one side of the stage to the other in an amazing display of fine-tuned talent.
Each individual dance piece inspires a different feeling but all of them make you wish you could dance like the dancers on stage and leave you tapping your feet to the beat even long-after you’ve left the theatre.
Possibly one of the best things about the show is presence of each dancer on stage as they create a uniquely enticing and exciting environment for the audience to take in their technical prowess.
The exhilarating show consists of two acts both packed with action, bright costume and unique varied choreography from latin dance to classic ballroom.
While you enjoy the unbelievable feats of each dancer on stage you will also find yourself recognising classic hits like “A Little Help From My Friends”, “Ballroom Blitz” and even popular modern songs like “Shallow” from a Star Is Born, all of which are sang live by three amazing singers.
While at The Baxter Theatre, viewers will be able to enjoy the vocal-stylings of Tyler Azzopardi, Mikee Introna and last but definitely not least, SA’s own Lelo Ramasimong. Their singing is crisp, clean and exceptional to behold live.
Each individual dance performance seems to become more passionate and energetic as the show goes on and you will find yourself wishing each one would go on forever.
