As if we didn’t already have enough reason to spend our evenings lazing about watching Netflix and eating pizza, Col’Cacchio Pizzeria is giving us one more.
While South Africans may be disheartened by the prospect of having to face a third wave of the global pandemic, coming together to get your favourite pizza delivered to your home while doing good for the community may just put a much-needed smile on your face. In an effort to do just that, Col’Cacchio has launched the #MyColCacchio initiative.
With the latest two week lockdown firmly in place, it’s never been more important to come together and support our local communities, and that’s exactly what this initiative aims to do. Through their #MyColCacchio limited edition takeaway meals, this pizzeria is keeping up the momentum by raising funds for local causes.
Col’Cacchio Co-Founder and CEO, Kinga Baranowska says: “#MyColCacchio celebrates the best in spirit of South Africans as we face ongoing challenges. It’s a way to have some fun and enjoy a great pizza despite the lockdown while also supporting the hard-hit restaurants in our communities and giving back to a local charity.”
With every sale of the limited edition #MyColCacchio meal, R5.oo will be donated on your behalf to the selected charity in the community. Here’s what you can look forward to chowing on:
Southern Suburbs: Belvedere, Meadowridge and Cavendish branches
You’re in for a real treat when you head to the Southern Suburbs, as patrons can tickle their taste buds with Col’Cacchio’s famous limited edition CBD oil pizza, known as the Not So Plain Mary. Spicy tomato base topped with mozzarella, chicken, peppadew, mushroom, avo dressing and CBD oil all come together to make this mouth-watering pizza. To warm hearts and tummies, a R5.00 donation will help support StreetSmart, an organisation that raises funds for street children projects which helps the vulnerable lives of these children.
Northern Suburbs: Durbanville and Willowbridge Branches
The famous Local is Lekker Pizza is making its way to the Northern Suburbs! With mozzarella, roasted garlic, mature cheddar, peppadews, avo, biltong and rocket oil, every purchase of this limited-edition pizza will support the Durbanville Children’s Home. This incredible home aims to take care of vulnerable children in Cape Town.
Cape Town CBD and Atlantic Seaboard:
Col’Cacchio’s famous Italo Swiss Pizza, with mozzarella, ham, tomato, spring onion and Emmenthaler is on the menu, while the Italo Swiss Pizza will be on offer at the Foreshore, Camps Bay and Blouberg Col’Cacchio pizzerias. All proceeds go to The Homestead Projects for Street Children, which helps reconstruct the shattered lives of street children and provides prevention and early intervention services to children and families in disadvantaged communities.
If you’re looking to indulge in a Halaal-certified meal, the Masala Pizza will certainly hit the right spots. A tomato base, coriander chutney, masala chicken, mozzarella, mushroom, mature cheddar, chutney yoghurt and fresh coriander make this delicious pizza. When ordering this meal, a R5.oo donation will support Igardi Club, a school curriculum that provides education on how to protect the environment, grow food for self-sufficiency and foster a love for food gardening.
We’ve never loved pizza more! Make sure to head to your favourite Col’ Cacchio’s to munch on their famous gourmet flavours while helping out your local community.
