Pockets of the Mother City were buzzing this morning. Level 4 of lockdown means that people can exercise outdoors again, however, only between the hours of 6am and 9am and no more than 5km from home. No gyms or group exercise activities are allowed under this level in order to keep in line with social distancing norms.
As expected, Capetonians flocked to their favourite outdoor spots, that are open to the public during these hours, to get their blood flowing. From the Sea Point promenade, to Long Beach and Blouberg, many took advantage of this new freedom.

Many however, have expressed their concern for the number of people that flocked to these places, with the Sea Point promenade in particular.
Social distancing was impossible to adhere to on the promenade, due to the lack of space and the density of people, making it impossible to be consistently 1.5 metres away from another person.
The Atlantic Seaboard, including Sea Point, Green Point, Mouille Point and surrounds are dense residential areas and the promenade is in the correct proximity. The lack of regulation, however, and the volume of people in one space has caused major concern in terms of the virus spreading.
Western Cape has 2342 cases, highest in the country.

People of Capetown. This is not the way to do it. Come on. Are you trying to ruin this?
You still have to maintain social and physical distancing guidelines. You got to run two meters away from the next person.
No need to all run by sea point. Use other roads that are available pic.twitter.com/Rpm52NLAv2
