Easter is a special time of the year: we have a little more time to spend with family thanks to the public holidays; observers of this religious holiday can revel in celebrations; and, importantly for sugar fiends, we all get a free pass to shamelessly indulge in sweet treats for an entire day.
To prepare you for this most momentous occasion, we have put together a little Easter-treat guide to get your mouth watering.
1. Charly’s Bakery
You can’t spend an Easter in Cape Town without treating yourself to a Charly’s Bakery Easter egg cupcake.
This cute culinary creation not only offers a good helping of chocolate and cupcake, but is also topped with delicious speckled eggs that are perfect for the season.
These are also great little treats to serve to the little ones at family gatherings.
Other cute treats at Charly’s include Easter Bunny biscuits, or hot cross bun cupcakes that are almost too sweet to eat.

A little birdie told us that Jason Bakery’s latest doughssant creation is available for pre-order and we hear it has something to do with caramellow eggs.
