Ed Sheeran has blown South Africans away with his live performances in the country, and social media shows that the internationally-renowned British pop star cannot get enough of Cape Town.
He has so far visited Table Mountain, Groot Constantia and a vegan deli and given an inspirational talk at a local music non-profit organisation – and that is just as far as we know.
The popular love-ballad singer dined at The Kind Kitchen, a vegan deli and café in Woodstock, two nights ago, and the eatery shared how happy they were to host Ed Sheeran and English songwriter and singer, Passenger, who has been opening for him at his concerts in South Africa.
“Last night we had the honour of cooking vegan for Ed Sheeran and Passenger (unfortunately not pictured here). They’re humble, kind and genuine. It reminded us of how fortunate we are to be able to provide the nourishment these rockstars need in order to inspire 100’s of 1000’s round the world on a daily basis through their own creative art. Thank you for visiting.”
Groot Constantia, a well-known wine estate, revealed that Ed Sheeran popped in on Wednesday to stock up on some of its local wines.

As if visiting a vegan deli and purchasing wine from the Constantia valley did not sound Capetonian enough, Sheeran shared a photo of himself relaxing and reading a book on Table Mountain with a picnic blanket spread out.
Ed Sheeran shared the photo on social media after his bodyguard Kevin Myers captured a few images of him as he read.
” I went to read my book up table mountain today and @securitykev took some pictures of me without me knowing, so here they are”.
On his most recent trip around the city, Ed Sheeran delivered an inspirational talk at Bridge for Music, a non-profit organisation that supports the development of music in disadvantaged communities and aims to raise global awareness about local issues through music.
The singer imparted some words of wisdom on the attendees, one of them being “Be weird, don’t try to fit in.”
