ERTH is the eatery Capetonians didn’t know they needed. Falling under The Skin Co brand, ERTH and its zero-waste kitchen combines health and skincare to bring the world’s first-ever nutricosmetic restaurant to life.
The brainchild of Devlin Perry, ERTH has recently opened its doors on 35 Main Road, Green Point. The ambiance of ERTH is warm and comfortable, and the decor both minimalistic and chic. Natural light pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a golden glow across the dining area. The kitchen is tucked away behind a coffee counter, making you feel as though you’re in someone’s home rather than at a restaurant.
The concept of ERTH’s menu is to bring edible skincare to the table. Sporting items off The Skin Co.’s original vegan menu, a shift has been made to incorporate foods that are inclusive to all dietary requirements. Local and sustainable fish, chicken, dairy and eggs are all available on request, all of which are sourced from free-range farms.
The food at ERTH is designed to nourish your skin from within. You will find ingredients like hyaluronic acid, collagen (using fish-based peptides), resveratrol and potent phyto ceramides combined into a juice or in a dish. These ingredients, while flavourless, are packed with nutrients and have endless benefits for the human body.
If you’re visiting for breakfast, treat yourself to the famous vegan omelette, which is filled with detoxifying goodness. The gram flour-based meal is packed with kale, broccoli, tomato, avo and so much more. It is deceivingly filling and will give your body the kick of antioxidants and nutrients its been longing for.
The truffle mushroom toast is a delicious option too, if you’re looking for something familiar. Opt for poached eggs and parmesan for that additional protein punch. Breakfast is served until 11:30 am.
I highly recommend the refreshing Summer Tocopherol to sip on before your meal. This juice contains mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E), resveratol, pineapple, orange, celery and mint. Think a granadilla lolly on the beach in Summer, without the processed sugar.
If you’re looking for something equally adventurous and delicious, then definitely try the Moon Juice. The ingredients for this are hyaluronic acid, activated charcoal, apple, spinach, ginger and lemon. It’s like drinking the galaxy.
Both options are vegan and vegetarian friendly.
If you’re looking for a new dinner spot, ERTH has a liquor license and will soon be serving tapas in the evening. The tapas menu, however, is available for lunch and includes an array of exotic, mouthwatering dishes, like: peanut vegetable rice paper rolls, seared tuna wasabi noodles, black risotto balls, crispy tofu skewers and so much more.
ERTH is open on Tuesdays – Sundays from 08:00 – 17:00.
