Rumour has it iconic rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are planning to visit Cape Town next year to challenge one another in an epic match.

In a recent interview with Vogue, Federer let slip that there are plans to hold a charity match right here in the Mother City in 2020.

There’s no confirmation on date, time or place yet, but Federer did mention that the match would be in aid of the Roger Federer Foundation.

“We’re going to try to break the record for most attendance, in Cape Town, South Africa for my foundation,” said Federer.

The Roger Federer Foundation aims to empower parents and local communities to provide children with good education and has been actively contributing to education around the world for 15 years.

Locals are in for a treat as these legendary tennis stars are expected to put on an amazing show while allowing residents to contribute to an equally amazing cause.

With a long history behind them – 39 head-to-head matches, to be exact – and Nadal holding the advantage at 24-15, the match is sure to be one for the books.
