On Sunday evening, a vegetation fire broke out in the Franschhoek area. The blaze began at Mont Rochelle and resulted in the temporary closure of the Mountain Pass.
The Pass was reopened shortly after the fire was quelled in the early hours of Monday morning.
Fire crews from the Winelands Fire Protection Association, along with fire crew members from Limietberg, Jonkershoek, and CapeNature worked through the night to douse the flames.
The cause of the fire is still unclear. Fire photographer Justin Sullivan was at the scene to capture these mesmerising images.
